After Poly PACE I moved up to the Bay Area to study at Stanford University. I started my major in Bioengineering and minor in Ethics in Society. I also continued playing the cello in the Stanford Symphony Orchestra and joined an organization in teaching high school students health classes. When COVID came I took the opportunity to enroll in additional classes at LBCC in the summer and then continued my Stanford education online, selecting to delve further into product design and material science within bioengineering and I continued I too became an online teacher. PACE taught me how to make this all possible. Stanford is harder than what I had faced with PACE, but PACE provided me the foundation to be able to balance seemingly impossible tasks. It is also because of PACE that I felt comfortable pursuing an array of topics both with my degrees and with my extra tasks. I’ve had to work harder than I have before but I can hold my own because of the community that Poly offered me.
